Having both a background in human resources and management, I have screened thousands of applicants, hired hundreds, and learned all the best practices. I also learned what to avoid. And I have a good grasp of the legalities.
More importantly, I have a gift for reading people, beyond what’s on a résumé or said in an interview. I love matching the right person to the right job.

Standard Package for Screening Applicants
Expected Outcomes
- You’ll be clear on your needs and what matters for finding the right match.
- I’ll take your pile of applicants and give you back the top 3 or 4 ready-to-hire candidates for your final selection.
- You’ll end up with a candidate that is a great fit for your organization and your needs.
What’s Included
- 2.5-hour Discovery Meeting to clarify needs, job description, hiring criteria, job posting, and the search process.
- Meeting follow-up such as reviewing revisions of the job description and hiring criteria.
- Reviewing applicant materials. (Usually no more than 35.)
- Design of customized interview questions.
- Phone interviews. (Usually no more than 10.)
- Reference checking (or train you to do so).
- In-person interviews. (Usually no more than 6.)
- Selection of 3–4 top candidates for you to meet.
- Discuss top candidates with you and return all documents and notes.
Add-on Services Available
I can also assist you with the following:
- Assisting at the final interviews.
- Choosing the best recruitment avenues for your needs.
- Help with final decision-making.
- Writing and sending an email to applicants who were not selected.
- Help with planning an orientation that ensures getting off on the right foot.
Cost
For the standard service described above, I would charge $140 per hour. My prediction for the standard package is approximately 20–25 hours, or $2800–3500. Any overages would be discussed in advance.
The Add-on Services are not included in the estimate, and would be billed at the same hourly rate.
Services can be customized during our Discovery Meeting based on your needs and budget.
How To Begin?
We start with the Discovery Meeting which provides value by itself and there is no obligation to continue. Because I spend time before and after the meeting for you, the Discovery Meeting is approximately a 5-hour cost, or $700.

How Long Does It Take?
- You’ll want about two weeks to collect applicant materials after posting the notices.
- Once I have the applicant materials, I can begin my screening and interview process which takes about 4 weeks.
- You’ll then be able to conduct the final interviews of top candidates based on your own schedule.
