If you’re thinking about blogging, here are some great resources to help you in the beginning stages.
First, be sure to figure out if blogging is for you and is it worth it.
Time to Choose Your Blogging Software
So, you’ve decided to go for it. You’re about to publish your thoughts on the web! Congratulations. Now it’s time to choose your blogging software.
Creating and posting to your blog is relatively easy, even if you aren’t technically inclined. Beginners will want to choose the most user-friendly software and options, such as WordPress.com.
What blogging software should you use? It’s possible to switch midstream if you choose wrong at first, but there are drawbacks to switching. Take time to choose the right one for you.
I chose WordPress.org (a more advanced version of WordPress.com), which is the same as my website platform. I checked out others and I’m still very happy with it. Everyone’s needs are different.
To answer a common question, I recommend having your business website and your blog all on the same website for best results. If you just want a blog and don’t know if there’s a business to go with it yet, I recommend starting with WordPress.com. It can grow with you as needed.
If you’re getting serious about blogging as a professional avenue, one of the best resources for everything to do with blogging is ProBlogger. Good place to read and find all the answers.
